What’s in a name?

Yes! We are identical twins! We answer to Kat & KC, or each other’s names! Our love for reading romance and adventure takes our readers into the best kind of travel, currently a series in America’s National Parks.

Twinnie, of course, you know now, comes partly from being an actual twin. We have combined that with Winnie. Winnie was our grandmother. Grandma was super talented in sewing, knitting, crocheting, and cooking. Imagine sewing three sets of Barbie clothes for her granddaughters! She was superb at it. Sadly, try as she might, she just couldn’t get her stories published in that darn “Reader’s Digest,” no matter how many stories she sent in. Winnie’s stories were safely kept in a folder destroyed in the Thomas Fire in California in 2017, along with Kat’s original Barbie wearing a fashionable outfit sewn by Grandma Winnie. The tiny wedding dress with pearls was next to that Barbie in the nightstand’s top drawer.

The twins wanted to honor Winnie somehow, and this is what they came up with. They think it’s a fun way to acknowledge Grandma Winnie. Twinnie it is! Brooks for several reasons, mainly because it is a quiet getaway. A babbling waterway over cobbled rocks, with the sun’s light glinting on the moss and forest trees nearby. Or that is what we imagine a nice place to read would be away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
